Fair Use Policy

Last updated on December 8, 2025

This document outlines the plan details that govern how you may use your Contract Canvas subscription plan, and actions Contract Canvas may take if plan misuse is suspected.

This Fair Use Policy applies to all Contract Canvas subscription plans and is incorporated by reference into the Contract Canvas Terms of Service.

Prohibited Uses

Subscription plans may be terminated, suspended, or throttled if we have reason to believe the subscriber is engaging in activity including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Sharing subscription credentials, or otherwise permitting access, to the subscription to any other individual or entity other than the named subscriber as permitted by their plan.
  • Use of automated scripts, bots, or similar technology to access our services or bulk-generate documents.
  • Downloading, generating, or distributing documents by the named subscriber for any other person or entity in a manner that exceeds the scope of the license (e.g., using a single-user plan to generate documents for multiple clients as a service).
  • Generating documents or using AI features for storage or future use unrelated to a present, specific project or need.
  • Use of the subscription to engage in behavior that artificially inflates the document generation counts or abuses AI features.

Stockpiling

A daily document generation volume exceeding what a single individual could reasonably produce, or similar bulk generation, may be considered evidence of stockpiling or misuse. For example, generating over 100 documents in a single day on a plan intended for individual use. Account type (Individual vs. Company) will be considered when assessing usage patterns.

Remedial Actions

Contract Canvas reserves the right to take remedial actions in response to suspected stockpiling or misuse, including:

  • Temporary or permanent suspension of the subscription plan.
  • Throttling or limiting document generation or AI feature activity.
  • Termination of the Subscriber’s account and/or access to Contract Canvas services.
  • Pursuit of additional legal remedies under the Contract Canvas Terms of Service and/or applicable law.
